Pearl Katz Beitner

It is with heavy hearts that Pearl’s family announces her passing on Monday, March 24, 2025, in her ninety-fifth year. Beloved wife of the late Saul Katz and the late Simon Beitner. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Barbara and Philip Berlach, Rhona and Ross Switzman. Cherished ‘Gramma’ of Samara and Ryan, David and Lizzie, Harley and Erin, Sean and Cynthia, and Cory and Leora. Special Bubby to Simon’s granddaughters, Alanna (Adam), Marci, and Rebecca. Dearest great-grandmother of Henry, Eloise, James, Wesley, Gwendolyn, Sawyer, Ezra, Cole, Asher, and Luna.  Treasured companion of Jack Fleisher. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Anne and the late Saul Reinblatt, the late Dinah and the late Shondor Ungar, the late Ben and Sheila Wolfe. Special Auntie Pearl of Soryl Cohen of Florida. A lover of games and puzzles, our mother was an unparalleled card player known for her sharp intuition. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and of course her kortnshpillers (card players).

Graveside funeral on Thursday, March 27 at 12:00 noon, at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, Adath Israel Section (C-17). Shiva at her daughter Barbara’s home, Thursday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre, (514) 483-2121 ext.: 72207.
