Saul Friedman

Peacefully, on Friday, January 17, 2025, in his 83rd year. Beloved son of the late Morris Friedman and the late Minnie Morgenbesser. Saul was an excellent science teacher at Baron Byng High School, Monkland High School, and for many years at MIND Alternative High School. He was also very musical and played guitar and sang in many venues, most recently at the Mariposa Cafe in NDG. In his last few years, Saul has been fortunate enough to be greatly helped by his accountant, Sylvain Tetreault, and, while residing at Maimonides Geriatric Centre, he was gently and beautifully looked after by Roselette Radegonde, who accompanied him even when he went into the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital. Saul will be missed by his former colleagues and friends, in particular Tom Saykaly, Ruth Rosenfield, and Diane Wood. Graveside service on Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m., at the Independent Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane.  Contributions in Saul’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
