In Loving Memory of Faigel (Phyllis) Shapiro (née Aaron)
Surrounded by her loving family, Faigel passed away peacefully in her home, with her beloved husband, Leonard Shapiro, of 72 years, and her children by her side.
She devoted her life to her family, raising three wonderful daughters: Robin Shapiro Murphy, Saundra Shapiro (Loren Molever), and Beth Hirsch (Larry Hirsch); embracing the joy of six adoring grandchildren: Erica Rockstein, Jessica Murphy (Sean Cox), Victoria Murphy, Jared Hirsch (Melitta), Noah Hirsch, and Aaron Hirsch; and a loving sister to Albert Aaron (Mona), Judy Kasner (Marvin), and Miriam Webb (Bill).
A Montrealer by birth and at heart, she leaves behind a dear community of extended family and friends.
We will forever hear her voice singing, “I love you a bushel and a peck,” a cherished memory she leaves behind. We will all carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
The funeral service, followed by interment will be held in Calgary at 2:00 p.m. MT on Thursday, March 6, at Chevra Kadisha, 101, 17818 37th Street SW.
Shiva will be observed at Beth Tzedek Synagogue, 1325 Glenmore Trail SW T2V 4Y8, on Thursday March 6, Sunday March 9, Monday March 10, and Tuesday March 11 with evening services beginning at 6:00 p.m MT. Streaming services are available for Shiva services by zoom.
