Notes

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Louis Gontovnick on Thursday, July 4, 2024, after several weeks of struggling with issues related to dialysis at the age of eighty-eight years old. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of so many who fondly remember him as a kind, pleasant and thoughtful person. Known by all as the “Eggman” from Ste Sophie, he knew everything about chickens and eggs. Louis was the son of the late Rifka and late Borach Gontovnick. He was a loving and devoted brother and brother-in-law to the late Bessie and the late Alex Rossman, the late Toba and the late Otto Gonda, Bluma and the late Leonard Malinoff.  Loving father and father-in-law to Howard and Linda Gontovnick, Norman Gontovnick and partner Linda Robidoux. Zaidie Louis will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Lisa, Josh, Brandon, Samara, Sidney, Lori and his great-children Riley, Aurora and Kingsley. A special mention of the late Eve Zaritsky who was a loving and caring partner for many years. Uncle Louis will be remembered and missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and by all those who knew and loved him from Chomedey to Deerfield Beach. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the efforts of the staff on K6 of the Jewish General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
