Lisa Klein

After a long struggle with myriad illnesses, Lisa Klein, loving and cherished wife of Said Abdalla Salim, and adoring mother of Shea Klein- Salim and his short-lived sister Leila-Malaika, passed away peacefully in her sleep very early Monday morning, February 3, 2025.

She leaves behind her grieving parents, Alice and Colman Klein, her brother Robert Simon Klein, and his wife Jo, and nieces Jasmine and Annabelle.

Lisa was an accomplished artist, and a brilliant social worker. She counselled teenagers in Brooklyn, worked for VSO in Nairobi Kenya stopping the spread of AIDS, and mitigating its effects, and worked in Lamu Kenya, setting up micro finance to assist poor women to start their businesses and become independent. She worked for CAS Toronto, and led many children to achieve an education and to lead meaningful lives.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
