On Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Beloved wife of Stephen Spiegel. Loving daughter of the late Rachel and the late Bernard Solomon. Dear sister-in-law of the late Bram Spiegel.

Judith’s adventure in the Fine Arts spanned over fifty years. In the 1960s, at the age of 13, she had her first exhibit in New York City, with her work being selected from a city-wide competition of thousands. In the 1970s, she and her partner opened The Mill Valley Sculpture Works, located in Marin County, North of San Francisco. For seven years — starting in the mid-70s — she worked on the development of the San Francisco Archives for the Performing Arts, working with the SF Opera, the SF Ballet and the SF Symphony. Judith returned to New York City in 1984 and developed a new, diverse portfolio for private clients, including two of her paintings that were selected for permanent exhibit at an office building in Washington, D.C. and a private commission for a site-specific diptych in San Antonio, Texas, as an artist in residence. In 2009, she and Stephen Spiegel opened the Innovative Arts Gallery in Peekskill, New York, hosting exhibits in their own space, as well as curating exhibits at the town’s City Hall. Their 2011 exhibit for Black History Month at the Peekskill City Hall received statewide accolades. Upon arriving in Montreal in late 2011, she began setting up new digs – first in the Mile End, then near Delorimier Downs area to develop a new portfolio. She also volunteered with the CLSC offices in Montreal’s West End, and taught art classes in long term care homes, such as Henri-Bradet and Saint-Margaret's, before and after COVID-19 appeared.
