Victor (Viktor) Benedek

After a courageous battle on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of seventy-seven. Devoted and much loved husband of Barbara Franceen (Indig) for fifty-three years. Son of the late Magda and Miklos; son-in-law of the late Sarah and Sammy Indig. Proud and devoted father and father-in-law of David and Sabine, Samantha and Meir Israel, and Amy and Dr. Jesse Schwartz. Beyond proud Zaidie of Joshua, Ariella, Emma, Benjamin and Hannah. He was the much loved brother and brother-in-law of George and Maria Benedek, Terry and the late Gerry Greenberg (Morty Cohen), Victor and Rosalie Indig, Philip Indig (Cari Gil), and Rhonda Indig. Victor will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A veteran of the Six Day War, Victor took pride in his Jewish Heritage and his Israeli roots. He will always be remembered for his work ethic, dry sense of humor, his kindness, and his warm stoicism.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, January 27 at 12:00 noon. Shiva at his daughter Amy and Jesse’s home. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. daily at the Shiva home.
