It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend, on Friday, February 14, 2025. Sam will forever be remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife and soulmate, Susan, together for over 33 years; his devoted children, Darren and Adam; his loving parents, Gloria and Larry Marr; his in-laws, Gloria and Jerry (z"l) Groberman; his brothers and sisters- in-law, Garry and Laura Marr, Lorne and Chantal Marr; his sisters-in-law and their husbands, Rhonda and Adrian Feigelsohn, Janice and Earl Pomer; and by all of his nieces and nephews.
Sam was a widely respected lawyer, Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court, past president of the Toronto Lawyers Association, and former board member of Beth Torah Synagogue and the Trillium Gift of Life Network. He was the recipient of the 2015 Catzman Award for Professionalism and Civility, which recognizes legal professionals for their knowledge of the law, integrity, fairness and civility, and commitment to mentorship.
Sam was a mensch in the true meaning of the word. He was an intelligent, gentle, generous, and determined man. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations in Sam's memory may be made to the University Health Network (UHN) Foundation https://bit.ly/3QQPuM2
