Rochelle "Shelley" Schachnow (Mayberger)

It is with profound sadness that the family of SHELLEY SCHACHNOW announces her sudden passing on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the age of eighty-nine.

Loved and cherished wife and best friend of Morris. Deeply loved and devoted mother of Merle, Kenny, and Charles. Adored bubby of Joshua & Samantha, Taylor, Stephanie, and Ashley. Cherished sister of Ruth Mayberger Eliesen and sister in law of Linda Mayberger. Lovingly remembered by Cindy Cherry.

Predeceased by her wonderful parents Anne Ginsberg and Hymie Mayberger, and by her dear siblings Charlotte Kuttas, Morty Mayberger, and Arni May.

Shelley will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.

Shelley’s life was greatly enriched by the wonderful care she received at Hillel Lodge over the last seven years. The constant visits from her family and friends were a testament to her loving nature. Shelley was a very special lady who will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street, Ottawa.

Shiva will be observed immediately following the service at 3580 Rivergate Way and will continue at Hillel Lodge 10 Nadolny Sachs Private, Wednesday through Sunday evening. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 2pm to 4 pm and from 7pm to 9 pm, Friday from 9am to 11 am, and Saturday from 7pm to 9pm
