Jack Caplan

Peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the age of eighty-seven. Beloved husband of Helen Hoppenheim for sixty-six years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Janet and Frank Shamash, Sharon Caplan and Kyle McManus, and Glenda Caplan. Proud and loving Zaidie of Michael, and Raquel; and Rianne. Son of the late Douglas and the late Jennie Caplan; and son-in-law of the late Mayer and the late Rose Hoppenheim. Predeceased by his dear brother and sister-in-law Dave and Faye Caplan; and brother-in-law of the late Berel and Leslie Hoppenheim. Jack will be missed by his family, extended family, friends and by all who had the good fortune to know him. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude his caregivers Michael, Jeanine, and Shazia for their empathy and friendship. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Community Foundation Section (B24), Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Due to the festival of Succot, Shiva will begin Saturday night, October 26, and will be strictly private. The family will receive condolence visits at his home Sunday, October 20, following burial until 4:00 p.m. and Monday, October 21, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
