It is with profound sadness that we announce Dorothy’s passing, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of ninety-six. Beloved wife of the late Isaac Rebner and the late Henry Mikelberg. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Murray and Susie, Lenny and Ruth. Adored Bubby Dodo of Rachel and Scotty, Max and Eryn, Jordana, Liane, Jamie and Carolyn. Proud and devoted great-Bubby Dodo of Spencer, Harris, and Shane. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mary and the late Harry Freedman, the late Israel and the late Makita Freedman. Dorothy will be deeply missed by Iona Kliot.
Dorothy’s warmth, kindness, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her wonderful caregivers, Annie, Angela, Shirley, and Veronica, whose exceptional care and compassion made a world of difference in Dorothy’s life. They would also like to thank the dedicated staff of the 7th floor of Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their unwavering support and care.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at her son’s home. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Na’amat Canada, Inc. (514) 484-0252.
Dorothy was an exceptionally positive spirit and had a big heart.
