Rita Briansky Prezament

Peacefully on April 24, 2025 in her 100th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband and fellow artist Joseph Prezament, and by her devoted partner Eddie Klein, and her two sisters and their spouses Becky and Marvin Duchow, and Bella and Harold Kalter. Adored mother of Anna, and Wendy.  Loving sister and sister-in-law of Shirley and Harry Miller.  She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, many devoted friends and students.  Born in Poland in 1925 and emigrated with her family to Annsonville, Ontario in 1929.  Art was her passion and after studying at the Art Students League of New York, she built a successful career as a painter, etcher and was an esteemed teacher.   Rita taught at the Cummings Centre in Montreal for many years and was as devoted to the Centre as they were to her.  She will also be remembered for her prolific repertoire of jokes and she made the best roly poly pastry in town.
