Dear Gilman Family, It is with deep sadness that I just learned of Elliott’s passing. We were close friends at West Hill and at Sir George Williams. Unfortunately, after that we lost contact until last year when we connected as he was really looking forward to meet at our pending 50 year high school reunion. I remember Elliott as a friend who would do anything to help you out. Simply a real Mensh. May his memory be a blessing to you forever. Albert Schuster

Elliott Gillman A kind and gentle soul has left us. Elliott’s passing is sad and worthy of grieving. For me, his legacy will be a beautiful illustration of his human spirit - that touched so many people, and made their lives better. He certainly did that for me. Elliott became my mentor, my coach, and my guiding light, as I navigated into the audio-visual and event world. I had just left an executive position at a large pharmaceutical company and knew nothing about A/V and event stuff. All I had was a burning passion that needed expression. I was in Toronto at the time. After months of research, I learned of an Individual in Montreal who had “a stellar reputation”, and had one of those “best in the business” credentials. His name was Elliott Gillman. We connected immediately, and continued to work together for about 15 years, until he left Montreal to go to New Jersey. I learned everything from Elliott – yes, all the technical aspects, but even more valuable, he taught me the importance of satisfying the client, of being reliable, of working with the highest moral standards and of executing with excellence. He stressed the importance of working with “heart” and caring for people. The guiding principles he bestowed on me will always be cherished and greatly appreciated. It really was my honor and privilege to have had the good fortune to be blessed by his wisdom. In many ways, you were the father I never had, my friend. Rest now, knowing that all who knew you and connected with you are better off because you “touched” them with your professionalism, your kindness, and your love. You will be missed, but you’ll eternally and fondly be remembered. With my condolences to Elliott’s family, his friends, and his relatives. George Kouri Montreal, Canada

Elliott and I met as campers at Camp Robinson and as soon as we could both drive we became thick as thieves. Memories include the cafeteria at Sir George, hanging at each others homes, making friends with each others friends and our 3 1/2 months touring Europe in the summer of '72. There wasn't a place Elliott would not drive to and I give Elliott full credit for teaching me to drive stick. I was so happy to see Elliott in 2007 at a camp reunion in Montreal. Condolences to Shirlee, Linda and family.

Dear Shirlee, Linda, and Elliott's entire family, I can not begin to express my feelings after hearing of Elliott's passing. I met Elliott some 50 years ago and became close, fast friends. Over the past day I've thought so much of the past. Time spent together at my parents home in St. Laurant, at your your home on Glenmore Road, trips to Lake George, Ste Agathe and others. Elliott was always a special friend, one who could always be counted on when a true friend was needed. I can't count the times we sat for hours at Donut King on Upper Lachine Road, just talking for hours. We remained close friends even after my move to Toronto. But somehow lost contact when Elliott and his family moved to New Jersey. We did reconnect through Linked In, a few years ago and looked forward to our next trip to New York when we would get together and meet his children and grandchildren. Sadly do to Covid that never did come to pass. I will always remember the good times shared and hope that you can too. Elliott was a very special person 50 years ago, 40 years ago and I'm sure every year since. May his memory serve for a blessing to all who knew and loved him. B'Shalom Brahm Seitz

Gary Satz - 15 days ago

Dear Gillman Family, I am not able to properly express the deep and profound sadness that I (WE) are experiencing. I will miss our almost daily conversations, about such world shattering issues, among them , Elliott & I would discuss the merits of eating a whippet cookie: Does one eat it at room temperature, from the refrigerator, or frozen. Or should one eat the marshmallow first, or eat the cookie first or remove the chocolate topping fist. This we would debate, for sometimes, over an hour. One of our other favorite conversations, would be about the merits of how to eat a May (MAE) West. I will miss these earth shattering discussions. BTW, I have spoken to the Angels up there and they have agreed arrange to have a brand new Porche awaiting for you at the Pearly Gates, so that you can drive around, at high speed, and keep track of your many family & friends. I will miss you my Friend Gary
