Sandra 'Sandy' Smalbach Silverman

Suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, just a month shy of her seventy-ninth birthday. Beloved daughter of the late Louis and the late Celia Smalbach. Loving wife of almost sixty years of the late Charles Silverman. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Jodi and Stephen Katz, Robin and Wayne Waxman, and Corrie and Mitchell White. Most special and cherished grandma of Jason and Monica Katz, Andrew Katz, Matthew and Michelle Waxman, Jenny Waxman, Madison, Rylie and Logan White. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Neil and Lisette Small, the late Cookie Gechman, and Sheila and Bernie Jagodnik. Proud aunt and great-aunt of Terri and Adam, Ashley, and Lauren Engel, Richie and Audrey, Josh and Zach Jagodnik, Kim Jagodnik, and Avery, Morgan and Drew Kantor, David and Amelie, Romy and Adele Small, Kathryne Small, and Luca Mejias, Stacy and Adam, Austin and Andrew Klein, Eric and Rebecca Gechman. 

Sandy will be remembered for her sharp mind, love of board games and puzzles, and quiet but kind demeanor. She will be truly missed by all her friends, family, and Machatunem.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at 5609 Melling Ave., Côte Saint-Luc, Tuesday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Services at 7:30 p.m. daily.
