It is with deep sorrow that the family of Regina Schipper announces her passing on January 17, 2025, at the age of 94.

Regina was the beloved wife of her late husband, Jack Schipper, with whom she shared more than 70 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Steven (Terri) and Debbie (Sheldon) Wiseman, an adoring grandmother to Samara (Dov), Nathaniel (Elizabeth), Susan (Michael), and Jason (Ashley), and a treasured great-grandmother to Jonah, Samantha, Philip, Alison, and Benjamin.

Born in Rzeszów, Poland, Regina was just nine years old when the Holocaust began. Alongside her parents, Mendel and Devorah, and her brothers, Leon and Moshe, the family escaped to Russia and were sent to Siberia. After miraculously surviving the war, they immigrated to Canada and settled in Montreal.

Despite enduring unimaginable adversity, Regina lived with unwavering strength and kindness. As brilliant as she was creative, Regina was a talented dancer with an eye for fashion who loved to laugh. Never missing an opportunity to make those around her feel cherished, she devoted her life to family, friends, and community.

Through her tireless volunteer work and support for others, Regina leaves a legacy of generosity and compassion that touched countless people. Her warmth, resilience, and spirit inspired everyone privileged enough to meet her. Regina will be profoundly missed.

The family would like to thank Remy for her expert care and kindness; nurse Arunesh, Edith, and all the nurses and PSWs at the Waterford Grand for their extraordinary dedication and support.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 19 th at 12:00 p.m. at the Ottawa Chevra Kadisha located at 1771 Cuba Ave, Ottawa, ON K1G 1L7 followed by burial at the Jewish Memorial Gardens at 2692 Bank Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
