Paula Latkowcer (née Goldman)

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Paula Latkowcer announces the passing of their dear mother on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in her ninety-third year, surrounded by her loving family. A Holocaust survivor, a true ‘Yiddishe Mamma’, a simple lady with a heart of gold whom everyone adored.  Beloved wife of the late Issie Latkowcer. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Ida and Ronnie Horwitz of Israel, Larry Latkowcer and Nancy Cybryk, Murray and April Latkowcer. Very proud Bubbie and Savta of Adi and Chen, Tal and Elo; Jonathan, Jason and Poonam; and Dana. Cherished great-grandmother of Nina, Ben, and Niv. Special Bubby of Chaya Mushka and Menucha Pinto. Loving sister and sister-in-law of the late Ella and the late Ralph Cohen; and sister-in-law of the late Toncia and the late Louis Blutstein, the late Frances Widman, the late Bella and the late Yanek Widman. Predeceased by her parents and twin brothers who perished in the Holocaust. Fondly known as Aunty Polly, Pucha or Hannah, she was a treasured aunt to Tolly, Mona, Judi, Sabina, Ian, and Marlene. She shared a deep and loving bond with her entire extended family. Special thanks to a longtime friend and a devoted caregiver, Zahava, as well as to social worker Karen Cahana, Dr. Sanda Popescu at the Jewish General Hospital, Dr. Linda Klein and to the exceptional 4th floor staff at Mount Sinai Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Zichron Kedoshim Congregation Cemetery, Anshei Ukraina Section, de la Savane.
