Courageously after a long battle, on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Nina Cannistraro. Loving father of Sean, and Ronnie Shaffer; stepfather of Lisa, and Danielle. Cherished grandfather of Markus, Justin, and Alix; Antonio, and Valentina. Son of the late Aaron and the late Anne Shaffer. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Rhonda Shaffer and Bob Herman. Proud uncle of Melissa, and Benjy, Skylar, and Abigail. Melvin will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Special thanks to Sleimane, Dr. Postuma, Dr. Wu, and the staff of Vigi D.D.O for their care and compassion.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, January 8 at 12:45 p.m. Burial at Le Repos Saint-François d'Assise Cemetery. Shiva will be at his sister's home.
