It is with deep sadness that we announce Max’s sudden passing on December 16, 2024, at his home. Loving husband of Joyce for many years. Beloved brother and brother-in-law of Armand and Rae, Suzanne, and Raphael and Janeta. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives, the Doucas family, the Golbert family, friends, neighbours and by all who knew and loved him.
Born in Casablanca Morocco in 1940, Max then moved to Israel where he served in the army and experienced life in the Kibbutz. He subsequently immigrated to Canada in 1961 and established himself thanks to his keen business skills and amiable demeanor.
Max was an avid athlete, an active member of the YMYWHA for many years. He was an accomplished runner of the Wolf Pack, having completed several marathons including the renowned Boston Marathon in 1979.
Max was also a talented chorist of the Orchestre Metropolitan performing under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Ségin for many years. Friends and family looked forward to his performances in churches and halls across the city, including the Bell Center.
