KATZ, Mary (Née Dubrofsky)
Peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on October 24, 2024, in her one hundred and Tenth year. She was the towering matriarch of our family, and was a truly remarkable woman. Daughter of the late Jack and Lena Dubrofsky. Loving wife of the late Seymour Katz. Devoted mother of Carrie Katz and partner Sydney Streicher, Kenny and Lise Katz. Predeceased by her beloved daughter Eileen Katz. Cherished grandmother of Douglas Naimer, Scott and Dina Naimer, Jill Naimer, Jonathan Abrams, Stephanie Katz and Martin Nadeau, Jason Katz and Elizabeth Jessee. Proud great-grandmother of Ben, Anika and Theo Naimer; Jamila and Fatimah Osborne; Zachary, Nicholas and Olivia Abrams, Gabrielle and Fynn Levadi. Predeceased by her siblings Sadie Shatz and Sam (Jack) Dubrofsky. Mary’s adoring nieces, nephews, family and many friends treasured every moment with her. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of the 3rd floor at Westmount One.
Mary was wise right to the end of her life. She had a remarkable way of commanding a room, making each conversation feel completely natural and privileged. Her age was a testament to her extraordinary nature, fuelled by positivity and a vibrant zest for life.
