On Monday, November 4, 2024, in her eighty-first year. Daughter of the late Joseph and the late Frances Jacobs. Sister and sister-in-law of Peter and Ellen Jacobs, the late Joan and the late Martin Samuels. Aunt of Nancy and Jeffrey Siegal, Dr. Charles Samuels and Dorothy Feely and the late Pam Hardy; Merav and Jonathan Schwartz, Dr. David and Candace Jacobs. Great-aunt of Jesse (Ben), Renee, Stephen (Brooke), Maia, Zoe, Alex, and Anna. Great-great-aunt of Harper and Naftali. Maggie may be remembered famously or infamously but she would not have minded which, because she only cared that the children who studied with her work hard and do better and better. All her students did that and much more.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Congregation Section, Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva at her home, Wednesday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Synagogue from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
