Gustave Steve Presser

Peacefully, after a brief illness, at home on Friday, January 3, 2025, in his ninety-ninth year. Loving spouse of Rhoda (Newman) for sixty-one years. Predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Erna Presser and Rebecca Presser, and his brother Robert (Bimbi) Presser. Proud father and father-in-law of Cheryl and Tom Sternberg of New York, Robert Presser and Sandie Sparkman of Montreal. Loving grandfather of Jenna Wilbur of Seattle, Washington; Jonah, and Charles (Chaz) Presser of Montreal. Gustave will be missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Special thanks to our family caregivers Anabelle Ortiz and Mechille Advincula for their support and affection for Steve and Rhoda at home.

Gustave founded Acme Engineering Products in 1956 with his father, Jacob, and built it into an international manufacturer of environmental products over the following decades. Working full-time alongside Robert until recently, he cherished his relationships with his employees, whom he considered to be his Acme family. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. Shiva at 6800 Macdonald Ave. (reception room) Sunday through Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Donations in Gustave’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
