It is with sadness that Fred’s family announces his peaceful passing at home, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of ninety-six. Beloved husband of the late Maxine Kronick. Loving father and father-in-law of Adam and Judy, and the late Bonita. Cherished grandfather of Spencer; and mentor of Ryan. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of Reva and the late Mike Malina, Esther and Morton Margolian, the late Morton and the late Bernice Arshinoff; and brother-in-law of the late Shirley Grushcow. Loved by his many nieces and nephews and their families. He will be truly missed. Special thanks to Rowena and Ana for their devotion and kind patience.
Fred and his brother Morton were pioneers of industry in Montreal, turning a small family barrel reconditioning business into a nationwide pail and drum manufacturing giant. Fred was a capable and charismatic salesman with Industrial Containers Limited as well as Arshinoff & Company. In his retirement he became an astute and knowledgeable investor… even until the end Fred could still give you a good stock tip.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Section C-17, Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. As per the family's request, shiva will be strictly private.
“A fighter and a true mensch until the end.”
