Ettie Katz

Peacefully, on Friday, February 28, 2025, in her one hundred and fifth year. Beloved wife of the late Issie for seventy-one years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Carole (Ejan Mackaay), Chuck (Rubi) and Arthur (Hildie). Adoring grandmother of Adrian (Inge-Lise), Ryan, Jason (Terry), Shawn, Jordan (Lauren) and Amanda (Branden); and great-grandmother to Alex, Thomas, the late Michael, Kira, Ellie, Miles and Harley. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses. Special thanks to Jewish Elder Care, and her wonderful caregivers, Josephine, Amy and Amalia, who provided loving care and compassion throughout her many years. Ettie lived her entire life devoted to her family. An avid reader and amazing mother, grandmother and wife. Ettie gave of her time generously supporting various charitable organizations throughout her life. She preferred to stay under the radar and just take care of the task at hand. Ettie was the strength and wisdom for all who sought her council. She truly was the Matriarch of the family. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St .W., at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 7. Burial at the Montefiore Protective Cemetery, de la Savanne.
