Dinnie Segal Besner

My beautiful wife of more than sixty-six years passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. Dinnie leaves behind her loving husband Marvyn and her two wonderful and devoted children, Rauna (Bob Hume) and Mitchell (Nina Frey), her grandson, Max Besner, her granddaughter, Tiffany Sims (Rooward Angibeau). Proud great-grandmother of three amazing children, Noah, Avi and Josh who gave Dinnie much joy over the last six years. Also grieving is Dinnie’s brother, Norton Segal (Mary Segal). Dinnie leaves behind her beloved nephews, Philip Segal (Amber), Robert Segal (Laurie) and Jeffrey Segal (Rachelle) and niece, Stephanie Segal (Joe) who were all a big part of her life. Predeceased by her brother, Zev. Daughter of the late Florence and the late Issie Segal. Also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Miriam Trager and her brother-in-law, Gerald Besner.

Dinnie was a tour de force. With her family and with her many devoted friends and in her long and successful business career, Dinnie did it all with dedication and enthusiasm. She loved deeply and laughed loudly. Dinnie lived life to its fullest up until the end with her busy schedule including swim and aerobics class, lunch and supper dates with her girlfriends and sister-in-law, with energy left over at the end of the day to check in on her relatives and friends.

Our family’s heartfelt thanks go out to the medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital with a special thank you to Dinnie’s nephew, Dr. Jeffrey Segal. Graveside service on Wednesday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zichron Kedoshim Congregation Cemetery, Anshay Ukraina Section B7, de la Savane. Shiva strictly private.
