It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing at home of Charles in his ninetieth year on Thursday, January 30th 2025 , after a full, joyful, and richly fulfilling journey.

Beloved husband of Irene (Rotszyld) Starosta for sixty-five beautiful years. He was the cherished son of the late Henri and the late Anna Starosta, and devoted and loving brother of Gilbert (Coline) and Mimi, both of whom predeceased him; he was also the much loved  brother in law of Henri ( Lori ) and Michele.

Charles was the dedicated father of Sylvia (Mauro) and Alain (Marie-Noelle), and the proud grandfather of Raphael (Shauna), Natasha, Lili, Anne, and Vincent. He was also an adored uncle to Philippe (Katherine), Patrick (Karen), Cindy (Marc), Richard, Nathalie, Shoshi (Justin), and Zeke. His love extended across generations, as he was a beloved great-uncle to Lindsay (Jason), Isaac, Cassandra (Vince), Jake, Ben, Rachel, Renee, Joseph, Felix, Theo, Jackie (Sacha) , Alexei , Henri (Megan) and Alyssa.

A man of remarkable warmth and vibrant spirit, Charles embraced life with passion and generosity. Known for his engaging conversations and radiant smile, he was the heart of his family and a steadfast friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and unyielding dedication to his family will remain a source of comfort and inspiration.

We are profoundly grateful for the exceptional care provided by our CLSC team and wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Grace, Kay, and Esther. Your gentleness, kindness, and unwavering compassion for Charles and our family will forever be cherished and remembered.

A special thank you to Dr. Jackie Cohen, whose attentive care, empathy, and unwavering dedication ensured Charles’ wishes were honored in the most compassionate and gentle way.

Charles will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
