Alan Knopp

With heavy hearts we announce his passing on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Alan was the beloved husband of Keren for forty-eight years, and the devoted father and father-in-law of Jonathan and Deborah, Ryan and Juliana, Katie and Ryan, Mike and Sophie, and Andrew and Allison. He was the cherished and adoring “Gamps” of Sophie, Ben, Oliver, Jacob, and Emme. Alan was the loving brother and brother-in-law of Marvin and Matt. Son of the late Sidney and the late Mattie Knopp. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family and dear friends, who he considered like family, from all around the world.

Alan was a true family man and avid volunteer with an extremely generous heart, someone everyone could count on. He took immense joy in being involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, always ready with encouragement and support. A successful businessman, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to grow. Alan treasured his friendships and valued the time spent socializing with his many friends from all different chapters of his life.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El Section, Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Pointe-Claire. Shiva at his home, 51 Birchview St., D.D.O.
