Dear Howard and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. When I think of Emily, the first thing that comes to my mind is her empathy and compassion towards others. Emily and I would often have scans and bloodwork done at the same time for our metastatic breast cancer. We would encourage each other to keep going and to pray for a cure for the disease. She gave me wonderful advice and compassion. She truly cared about others, always giving me hope for “the cure.” She encouraged me to eat well and to be resourceful. She deeply believed that the cure for breast cancer will come, and she wanted to live to see that day. She is deeply missed by many patients and staff members at the hospital. Her strength of character was remarkable and an inspiration. She never gave up, no matter how much she was suffering from her treatments and the disease. A true warrior. She is deeply missed.
