I was so deeply saddened to hear the news of Leslie’s passing today, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to all her loved ones during this difficult time. I will always cherish my warm early childhood memories of our adventures together in Montreal, with Leslie doting on my sister and me with love, generosity and plenty of smiles. She was the surrogate auntie who first introduced me to the joys of live music at the old Forum; I still fondly remember attending my first big concert thanks to her kindness - Duran Duran (with The Payolas as openers). She was my soft landing as a child, and for that, Leslie will always hold a treasured and sacred place in my heart. May Leslie’s spirit continue to inspire and guide all her loved ones through this difficult journey of loss and healing.

To Leslies Extended Family and Many Friends: I was shocked to learn of Leslie's passing.... Too soon.... Too soon.... I live in the same building and would see her in the elevator, with her signature bright, wide smile and always cheerful.... Her presence lit up a room.... Though no word of mine will lessen your grief, I do hope the beautiful memories you have of her will bring you comfort and eventually, a bright, wide smile like Leslie's.... May you all be spared from further sorrow.... Ellie Israel

To Leslie's Loved Ones. Leslie and I became bunkmates at Camp Kinni Kinnic in 1959. Our parents had been friendly, so that her parents chose Kinni the year after I first became a camper. Leslie was a remarkable athlete! With her long legs, lean body, determination, concentration, and speed, she sailed over the high jump bar like an impala - such grace in motion. The standing broad jump and running broad jump showed off her incredible talent. Her abilities and her very kind and friendly nature made her very popular at camp, and she was voted Captain of the Buff Team in our final year at camp - 1963. Over the years I would see Leslie infrequently, and yet our conversations were warm and friendly. She was always that very humble and caring person she had always been. My condolences on the loss of such a lovely woman. May your memories be sweet. Wishing you good health and long life. Marlene

To Leslie’s family, although it has been many years, since I last saw Leslie, I will never forget how friendly and kind she was when we both met, taking the same course on Queen Mary Road near her family home. She insisted I join her for lunch often at home during that summer, prepared by her beloved nanny. We remain friends after for many years, but lost touch in the late 80s. She was fun, bubbly, and full of life. I will remember her fondly.

To Leslie’s family, Last night I received a shocking call saying Leslie had passed away. I just saw her in our building before I left on holiday, We said we would definitely get together when I get back. We have known each other since grade 7. Our mothers were neighbours and good very friends, then Leslie and I ended up living in the same building. She was a very special , kind person. I will miss her terribly.

To Leslie’s family, My deepest sympathies on the passing of Leslie. I have very fond memories of her as my neighbour on Glencairn. I was about 11 years old when we moved next door to her and we used to play skipping on the road with the other children on the street. We played at each other’s houses. Leslie was always warm, friendly with a beautiful smile. She was kind. I will remember her most fondly. Carmela

Losing one of my best friends after 43 years is heartbreaking. Even after I moved to New York many years ago, our friendship stood the test of time and distance. Whenever I would come into Montréal or Leslie came down to New York to visit Donald, we always made sure to get together. So many memories keep coming back to me. The many times our two families went out for a New Years Eve dinner, our many long distance conversations where she made me laugh hysterically and our outings in New York with my husband Gene and Donald. Her being at the bar mitzvahs of my sons was very special to us. Unfortunately, health reasons prevented her from attending their weddings. I will always remember Leslie as being very warm and generous. She will never be forgotten by me or my family. This is truly a very sad time for me because a lovely lady and very good friend is no longer in my life.

I will miss very much my niece Leslie. She always made an effort to call me and see how I was doing. She had a heart of gold and was so unselfish and caring. She was a most devoted daughter to my sister Muriel and made every effort to advocate for her. Although I am unable to travel to Leslie’s funeral, I will watch it from home. With love, Auntie Marcia

As far back as the time her mother lived in this building, I so admired Leslie’s special relationship with her mom. She was devoted to her. I cannot think of a time that I met Leslie and she did not have that beaming warm smile of greeting. She was such a lovely neighbor. I am so shocked and saddened. I will miss her.
