Dearest Auntie Chubby, Nancy, Lysee, and Andrea. I am so sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Hy. I loved him so much. He was always so kind and loving. Big hugs, would ask about my adventures and kids and he called me YuYu. Always. Never Lulu. And as my sister wrote there was always a confusion with who my father was. "Your last name is Tolchinsky, your father the Architect?" "No " I would contantly reply. "He's the basketball player." "Oh, Tall Sol." Same conversation often. I remember rented the house in Stowe when he and Auntie Chubby would read the same book. I think she read and would tear out the pages for him to read next. They were a great match. I'll always remember him smiling and laughing with my dad. And Passover dinners at out house. He will be missed. I'm send a huge hug from across the pond. My late husband, Stephen, enjoyed working with Hy and Murray and had great respect for their skill and work….always saying that their designs were both beautiful and practical. Morris andHy’s brother in law, Allan were pharmacists together years ago and Hy designed their first pharmacy. So many good memories of a good man who we all remember smiling.

He loved his family, his work, his garden and his food! And he had a great sense of humour, only second to his late cousin Solly (Tolchinsky the basketball player). To the Tolchinsky and Bloomfield families, I was very saddened to hear of Hy's passing. He was a pillar in the architectural community for decades. I had the privilege of working for Mr. T. and learning so much from him as a young architect, fresh out of McGill in the 1980's. Tolchinsky and Goodz was the busiest and hottest office at the time and an incredible training ground for future generations. He will certainly be missed but he left a legacy around our City that will endure. My condolences to the families.
