Scott Leslie - 3 days ago

Dear Vicki and extended family. My deepest sympathies for your sudden loss. Stan was an amazing man and an extremely important person to my late father Bill Leslie. My fondest memories of Stan were playing golf when I was a teenager at Cedarbrook with Stan, Jeff Payne and my Dad. Then years later playing at Elm Ridge as the same foursome recreating the same picture from years ago. It was amazing how the friendship between Stan and my Dad carried on for so many years since their teacher student days in High school. He will be missed.

Dear Zack Family, I came into your family having been hired by STS in the 90s. The "band of brothers" of which Stan played the "chief people officer" role put together a company cultural experience that allowed so many people to create life long friend ships. So much of Stan remains with many of us from the STS community. I was terribly sadden by his loss and only hope that the blanket of time helps you heal as you carry on his great legacy. With Love from New Jersey - Charlie Lewis

Dear Zack Family, Stan truly was a guiding force in the lives of so many young people, like me, who started our careers at STS in the 90s. He was a father figure to all, chatting in the halls, going for "Executive Lunches" and acting as a mentor we will never forget. I am grateful to him for that opportunity, and for all the fond memories I have of those days with him. He was a gem, and taken much too soon. Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. Lawrence Young - 7 days ago

Dear Zack family, I was truly saddened to learn of Stan’s untimely passing last week. I often had the pleasure of collaborating with Stan professionally during his career at STS. And I can honestly say he was one of a kind and a breath of fresh air – always fair and reasonable, honest beyond reproach, and always a pleasure and fun to interact with. And during the past 30+ years, Stan always generously supported all of our fundraising activities whenever I or my wife Caryl approached him. He always told us that it was his pleasure to be charitable in thanks for the wonderful life he had been blessed with. And he really meant it! In short, Stan was a real mensch, a term used often used. But Stan was the real McCoy and made this world a better place in so many ways for so many people. May his memory be an eternal blessing, and may your family know of no more sorrow.

My deepest condolences to the family. About 70 years ago I played shinny hockey at Van Horne Park with Stan when he lived on Kent. He was always a better skater than me. Later in life, he was a tremendous help in installing two mini-computer systems, one in Montreal and a second in New Jersey. A few years ago we had a joyous reunion at the Alzheimer’s golf dinner where we reminisced about old times. Stan was his jovial self. Stan was a special man, loved and respected by so many. Natalie Celemencki Lang - 8 days ago

Dearest Vicki, Stephanie and family, the world lost a great man on Wednesday. Stan was a mentor, an inspirer, a friend, a golf buddy and a family man. He touched many lives as noted on the STS private group FB page, beautiful tributes to him. Stan had a knack for hiring the best and he did so by creating a fulfilling work environment, along with Howard and Bill. A place we called "Camp STS". Stan inspired me to be the person I am today, working in HR and I thank him for that. So many marriages came out of STS, and Stan would always conceit that he had a hand in that. I met "my own Stan (my husband)" through STS, a true testimony of what STS was all about. Stan interviewed and hired both of us, a decade in between, but nonetheless, he always knew the "right ones" to hire. Today, some 25 years later, I still remain very close to so many. This is what Stan created. May his memory be a blessing to all the lives he touched. Our warmest condolences to all of you. XOXO Natalie Celemencki and Stan Lang

Dear Vicki, Russel, Jon, Stephanie, and family. I have known Stan since our days at Northmount High. We kept in touch all the years after university as well We both got involved in the computer industry and one day I approached Stan to join up with Bill and me in building STS. We worked together for more than 25 years building a very successful software company. It was great that Stan had his strengths in managing the team at STS while I focused on strategy and sales. Stan also loved the game of golf. I remember so well that he would go to Elmridge at 6:00 am and play 18 holes and be at the office before 8 am to welcome the employees. Many many lunches with Bill and Stan where Stan would take all the notes on the corner of a placemat. He always said that the faintest ink was better than the best of memories. There are so many great stories about all the years working with Stan. Several hundred employees have expressed their feeling on the Facebook page called STSers. We will all remember Stan forever. A very special guy. Besides spending so much time building STS he took great care of his family. Howard

Dear Vicki and Family- how the road of life has its horrible twists and turns. It was only a few weeks ago that we sat at the same table celebrating at a Montreal affair. Living in Toronto for the past 40 years, we didn’t see Stan often but when we did, we truly enjoyed ourselves. His humour and interest in everything really stood out. I regularly asked about him when talking to two of my good friends who were both very close to him and learned more about his intelligence, kindness and generosity. May your many memories of him be your path towards healing this great sorrow.

Mark and Diane Randolph - 8 days ago

Dear Vicki, Stephanie, Marc, Russell, Catherine, Jonathan and Melanie, A piece of us all passed away on Wednesday. In our case, a regular golf partner, mentor and boss. He was one of the kindest people we have ever known in this world. His humor, wit, inquisitiveness will be missed by so many. We are in shock and cannot hold back the tears. And now, all we have are his memories. But those memories are more powerful than life itself. After Mark’s parents passed away, he considered his time with Stan like a substitute parent. Only a few of us will understand what a Stan ‘gimme’ was, but that thought will always be with us every time we step on a golf course green. Our deepest condolences to the entire family, Rest in peace our dear friend. Mark and Diane

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Stan. We won two championships together in the CSL Executive Softball League (1985 and 1989) and he was a fine player and a wonderful teammate. He always batted leadoff and I followed him and together, we started many of the rallies that won games. He knew the game and always hustled and was a lot of fun to play with. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Dear Vicki, I was very sad to hear of Stan's passing. It brought to mind our friendship during our high school ad college years. At Northmount, challenging each other to solve "difficult" geometry problems or citing and reciting various obscure lines from Shakespeare's plays. And playing sports together -- bowling and pizza, touch football games/championships, ball hockey, and golf. Those were great times, and I understand that this good life continued for him well after that. I know that you and Stan were a true love match. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Dear Vicki and family, I’m in shock over the tragic and untimely death of your beloved Stan. I’ve known Stan since Northmount days. We connected again when he was Kevin’s coach in hockey. Good times. But for the last number of years our get togethers in Scottsdale and then back in Montreal were so enjoyable and fun. Stephen and I really got to know Stan and will miss him and all the laughs we had. Vicki, I’m out of town for the weekend so will be unable to be at the funeral but will see you as soon as I return. I’m devastated for you and your family. Maxine

Dear Vicki and family, Our most sincere sympathies. What a complete shock. It has been some time since we had spent time together, but the recollections are all so vivid and positive. Stan was absolutely a one-of-a-kind person. Unique. We had some wonderful times together before and after our many years with STS, good laughs, and happy memories. Each memory a timeless treasure of the heart. We are confident that Stan has left behind a thousand moments that will live in your hearts forever. May you all find the comfort in those memories, strength in the family and friendships of those who share this loss, and comfort in the love that is forever. Memories are the most beautiful pictures our mind can paint, and nothing can ever erase them. Our hearts go out to each one of you.

Dear Zack Family, When I was a young boy of around 5&6 years old, I would come by the house and play with Russ and Jon. I still have very vivid memories of those days. Jamie & Marlena Rappaport - 10 days ago

Dear Vicki ("VZ") and the entire Zack family. I am still in shock and disbelief upon hearing the awful news of Stan's sudden and tragic passing. Though perhaps not overly tall in stature, Stan was certainly larger than life (and could hit a golf drive a mile despite that ridiculously short backswing). He had this superpower of meeting someone and then engaging and getting to know all about them in 5 minutes.  I will miss most our talks catching eachother up on our children's lives. He was such a generous man of mind and soul. Vicki, you must know how much he loved and respected and was devoted to you.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support, or simply want to meet up with us and Maddie for an ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Marlena and I are in the UK visiting my daughter, so unfortunately we will not be able to attend the funeral. But we have no doubt that there will be a wealth of warm and wonderful memories shared about Stan. With love. Jamie Rappaport.

Dear Vicki, Jonathan, Russel, Stephanie and entire Zack Family, both Karen and I want to express our deepest sympathies on the most tragic passing of your and our beloved Stan. I am still in shock after receiving the call and news yesterday which I naturally at first did not believe. Stan was not only a client of 50 years but a true friend. We spent so many hours together in the days of STS and especially during the six months leading to the sale of the company. There are so many stories which always stayed in my mind. He was extremely devoted to all of his employees and made absolute certainty that when the company was sold that they also be looked after. He was a mench, a very caring person and extremely devoted to his family and good friends. We spent many memorable times on the golf course together, travelling on an annual basis for many years to extremely nice golf facilities. Especially memorable was the first time we went to Scottsdale and stayed in a beautiful home which Stan had arranged for us and when we got there over a drink, he told us he had purchased the house. Being very involved with him on his personal financial affairs, I got to know his thinking and was always impressed with his drive to be extremely charitable and to support so many charitable organizations. We always compared notes on our kids and grandkids and Stan was so proud of them and their accomplishments. I will miss our annual birthday greetings. May the family cherish all the great memories and rest in peace my friend . We were all very proud of you and your accomplishments
