Laura and her sweet little white dog arrived in Halifax and our home as a very young Hebrew school teacher. I believe that this her first job. She stayed with our family until her apartment was ready. How we loved having her here! Her enthusiasm was contagious. Laura lived in Halifax for a year or two, and she accomplished so much in our afternoon school. We all loved her and were so sorry when the inevitable return to Montreal happened. Laura and I were out of touch for many years, but reconnected by accident to catch up a few years ago. It was wonderful to see how much she accomplished in those years. She sent pictures of your family and spoke with such love of you all. My condolences to you all as you travel through this difficult time. May sweet memories of your wife and mother bring smiles soon.

Laura’s family, I am so very sad to read this. Laura called me in November when she found out we had the same health issue, but she was so worried about her heart and I tried to put her at ease. I gather our cases were different. She was going to start chemo and I told her to call whenever she wanted to. I was just starting my journey and didn’t know the future. I have known Laura for many years……this is a sad sad day. I am at a loss for words.
