Dear Mona, Reuben and Family, I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you on the passing of Rabbi Jonathan z"l. May the good memories you have of him sustain you at this difficult time. Rabbi Jonathan was a member of the beit din at Congregation Dorshei Emet, for my conversion to Judaism in September, 2019. He was kind and reassuring and after hearing my "Jewish Journey" towards conversion, he welcomed me with open arms into the Jewish community. Rabbi Jonathan, along with Rabbi Boris and Miriam Keesal and my partner Barry Nadel danced and sang, "Mazel Tov" with me, after my visit to the mikvah. I will never forget this wonderful day! I feel lucky to have had a friend and classmate like Jonathan at RRC. He was warm and kind, and always had a listening ear. His easy sense of humor made me laugh. His devotion to and love for Mona and Reuben was evident on a daily basis! He was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned much from him. And as a classmate at RRC, I enjoyed learning together with him. He was a rabbi of the finest caliber. I will miss him. May his memory be a blessing.
