Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 11, 2025 shortly after celebrating her ninety seventh birthday.

A woman of strength and unwavering devotion, Thora was the heart of her family. Devoted wife of the late Solomon. Together, they raised three children who brought them immense pride and joy: Dr. Boris and Arlene Yufe, Donna and Howard Strauss, Pat Israelovitch and Jehuda Kaminer.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Joanna Yufe and  Bram Naimer, Alyssa Yufe and Bobby Stoller, Richard Yufe and  Dr.Jacqueline Joza; Jessica Strauss and Jean Surette, Dr. Nathan Strauss and Kait Kishbaugh, Cee Strauss, Dana Strauss; Dr.Melanie Israelovitch and David Korn, Lisa Israelovitch and Rob Rapp, Lauren Israelovitch and Jason Koenig, Proud great grandmother of Josh, Jeremy, and Lianne Naimer; Sabrina and Jaclyn Stoller; Rachel, Sarah, and Harrison Yufe; Ethan and Hannah Surette; Ezra Strauss; Ariel Strauss; Mia and Alex Korn; Jade and Cammy Rapp; Rhea, Noa and Eden Koenig. 

Sister and sister-in-law of the late Lorna and the late Monea Yufe and sister-in-law of the late Joseph Yufe, the late Haica and the late David Feldman.

She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Born in Poland in 1928, Thora emigrated to Trinidad in 1936 with her parents, Sheila and Henry Bricks, and her sister Lorna, eventually settling in Montreal.

Thora was an exceptional woman—radiating kindness, generosity, and compassion in all she did.
