Peacefully, in his ninety-sixth year, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, with his family by his side. Devoted husband of the late Doreen Silver Rappaport and the late Janie Price Rappaport. Beloved father of Naomi Rappaport and Steven Monk, Mark and Gail Golberg,, Shari Golberg and Norm Rosner, and lan Rappaport. Loving Zaidie of Jeremy Monk and Michelle Rubinfeld, Zane Monk, Sean and Alexis Golberg, Kimberley and Daniel Cadesky, Tamara Rosner and Evan Borman and Adam Rosner, Amanda and Jonathan Saxe and Corey Rappaport. Great-Zaidie of Beau David,, Cole, Callie, Asher, Hudson, Kane,, Chloe and Felicia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Esther and the late Carl Storfer,, the late Harry and Nettie Rappaport, the late Ben and the late Geraldine Rappaport Resnick; and dear brother-in-law of Yossi and Jackie Silver. Sam will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
After his retirement from Cumberland Drugs, Sam was a volunteer at the CLSC René-Cassin for many years. He was an avid bowler and loved his garden in Côte Saint-Luc. Sam was a member of Beth Zion Synagogue where he sang in the choir under the leadership of Reverend Lindenfeld. Our utmost gratitude to the wonderful staff of 5 North at Miamonides Geriatric Centre, Melissa, Diane, Sherry Ann, James, Corona, Bo, Luni and Lydia. Heartfelt gratitude to his occupational therapist Sonya Tarasuk and his caregiver John for their devotion. Special thanks to the Resuscitation Unit of the Jewish General Hospital and Dr. Schifirnet for their care and compassion.
