Mayer Morris (Monty) Hutman

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Monty Hutman announces his passing on Friday, July 5, 2024, a few minutes after the singing of “Shalom Aleichem” with his children (live and via FaceTime). Beloved husband of Esther Steinberg for over sixty-three years. Devoted son of Clara z”l and Jack z”l Hutman, and son-in-law of Ruth z”l and Moishe z”l Steinberg. Loving father and father-in-law of Annie and Barry Goodman, David Hutman, Debra and Dov Lando. Precious Zaidie of Ashley (Aviva) and Danny Dworkin; Chloe, Dori-Ruth, and Ricky-Moe Goodman (fiancée Elianna); Ruthie, Josh, Benjamin, and Daniel Lando. Proud great-grandfather of four. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Maidy z”l, Menu and Gail z”l Hutman, Harry z”l (Monty’s identical twin and best friend) and Donna z”l Hutman, Molly and Mutty Ratner, Sammy and Lolly Hutman; and brother-in-law of Stephen and Gloria Steinberg. Monty will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and all of those whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank Monty’s dear caregivers, Jasintha, Esther, and Nilly, as well as the entire staff of 6 South at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. Esther and family wish to thank all of those who went above and beyond offering support during Monty’s illness. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, July 7 at 3:00 p.m. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Jerusalem Section, de la Savane. Shiva at his home.
