Georgette Mimran (née Elfassi)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Georgette Elfassi Mimran announces the sudden passing of their beloved matriarch on Monday, October 28, 2024.  Georgette was born in Rabat, Morocco in 1933. She led a life filled with love, kindness and wisdom. Known for her warmth, delicious family recipes and the countless stories she shared from her rich life experiences, she instilled values of Torah, compassion and love in her family that will forever be cherished. Loving wife of Chalom Mimran for sixty four years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Gracia Mimran and Ari Kugler, Corinne Mimran, Brigitte and Alan Kohll of Omaha, Nebraska, Rabbi Yosef Chaim and Rachel Esther Mimran of Gateshead, U.K., Rabbi Shlomo and Sophie Mimran of Kiryat Sefer, Israel. Cherished grandmother “Mum” of twenty-eight grandchildren and their spouses, Drs. Perlyne Kugler and Jacques Balayla, Stefanie Kugler and Derek Greenblatt, Drs. Aaron Kugler and fiancée Laura Elbaz; Abby, Adam and Benjamin Kohll; Shalom Shimon and Zahava, Ruchama and Shimmy, Yael Nomi and Israel, Hadassah and Shalom, Batya Bracha and Yechiel, Sarah, Dinah, Batsheva, Yudit, Avraham Shaul, Malka Ahuva, Eliyahu, Rivkah, Yehuda, David and Aharon; Shalom and Shani Mimran, Bracha and Eliyahou, Meir and Tzipi Mimran, Yosef Chaim, Esther, Menachem and David Mimran. Proud great-grandmother of twenty-four great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law and sister of Denise and the late Marc Elfassy. Treasured aunt of Joseph, Bernard, Maxime, Caroline, and Arik Elfassy. Georgette will be fondly remembered by the  Mimran, Kugler and Elfassy families. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Myriam Maruani for her devotion. Special thanks to her caregiver Anjanelle Manalang.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:30 pm.  Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane.
