Bess Katchan (Née Melnick)

On Friday, April 4, 2025, in her ninety-sixth year. Beloved wife of the late Eli. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Eric and Amalia, Brian and Asia. Proud Grandma of Lauren, Yoni, Fira, Aviva, and Mori. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Dave and Shoshana Melnick, Nellie and Sydney Enkin, Esther and Charlie Gorber. Bess leaves behind many cherished memories of scrumptious Shabbas and Yom Tov meals, and an impeccable sense of style. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all those who knew her. Graveside service on Monday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Victorian Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Eric’s home in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Monday through Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. daily.
