Charity of your choice

October 18, 1929 – July 18, 2024

Peacefully, at home, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with his beloved wife of seventy-three years, Phyllis Schwartzman, by his side.  Abe was an accomplished artist who began painting at the age of thirteen; he studied at the Montreal School of Fine Arts and painted landscapes, workers, and scenes of the Negev – a collection that is on permanent exhibit at Masada in Israel. He continued painting into his nineties and completed his last painting in 2023.  Abe was also a successful businessman who used his artistic skills to create and run Textile Colouring and Printers.

Beloved father and father-in-law of David Pinchuk and Paulette Fetaya, Leonard Pinchuk and Diane Fineblum, Josh Pinchuk and Cindy Teitelbaum, Amy Pinchuk and Mark Meland.  Cherished Zaidie of Tommy (Tanya Vishnevsky), Orley (Darren Berze); Randall (Jacquelyn Dorsky), Bryan (Jenna Citron), and Kerri Pinchuk; Jeremy, and Bradley (Robyn Eidinger); Matthew, Rachel, Paul, and Daniel Meland (Jason Price). Proud ‘Super-Zaidie’ to his thirteen great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Evelyn and the late Saul Pinchuk, the late Sophie and the late Jack Dubin, the late Molly and the late Harry London; and brother-in-law of Sophie and the late Jack Schwartzman, the late Rita and the late Sam Reznick.  Abe cherished his family and enjoyed being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, bragging to all that his clan numbered forty. He was a true “friend person” who developed long and meaningful relationships with many people who appreciated his great warmth, humour and compassion. Abe also treasured his relationships with his cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. The family wants to thank Yolande Campbell for her exceptional care of Abe and Phyllis.
