Mr. Raicek was a genuinely remarkable human being - larger than life and a force of nature. Etched in my memory is the gracious hospitality Norman and Sally showed us during our excursions from Middlebury College to Montreal in the 1980’s. “Food is love” and we were so lucky to sample Montreal’s finest smoked meat and fish because Norman said we had to! Also, Sally’s culinary talents were incredible! And all we did was eat. We are thinking of you with all our hearts and we pray for all of your family. It was clear Norman had issues walking as he was in a wheelchair, but his wit, humour and sheer determination were all we saw. He was not going to let a wheelchair stop him from anything.
