Dearest Konigsberg family, Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Shirley. We will miss Shirley's energy under the umbrella. Thinking of you all.

BEVERLY AKERMAN - 4 jours

Dear Max, Esther, and family I was very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. Shirley exuded an attitude of calm, cheerful competence. One vivid memory from way way back was one day after high school when I was over and Shirley came home with a new wooden spice rack. She reached under the sink for some small paint tins and a brush and proceeded to touch up the spice rack so it would match the kitchen decor (orange and green, as my admittedly faulty memory has it). All without changing her clothes or spreading newspapers to catch the drips (of course, there were none!). I'm not sure why this has stuck with me for close to 50 years, but feel it somehow speaks to her character. My mother Barbara has also been talking about her gratitude to Shirley, who was, once upon a time, great friends with my father's (z"l) sister Bluma, z"l. Shirley set my parents up on a blind date...so without Shirley, I literally would not be here. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion, and may Shirley's memory always be for a blessing. Wishing you all peace.
