To the Family of Shirley, I was saddened to hear that Shirley had passed on. What great memories I have of her from the 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's until today. Her love of family and a love for animals, especially her cats. Robyn and Marla's eulogies said it all. SHIRLEY - YOU NOT ONL TALKED THE TALK, YOU WALKED THE WALK. Love, Mitzi

What a special lady Shirley was in this world! I was always so inspired by her outlook and wonderful attitude about life. I always enjoyed our talks about her life experiences and outlook. I always came away inspired. One of the things that I admired about Shirley was her ability to be so open to life, young at heart, cool and hip! A very special lady, a good and kind human being. I am a better person for knowing her. May her soul rest in peace. May her family be spared further sorrow.

Shirley, I feel very fortunate to have had you in my life since I was a toddler. Instantly I felt our connection and even if a decade past seeing you again you made me feel loved. Growing up in an orphanage wasn't the hard part. Loosing your mother at an early age and having no support from your father you and your brother lived an unimaginable life as youngsters. The freezer next to your bed full of food sticks to my mind. Nobody's going to tell you when and what to eat. Your mind set and determination till your last days should be an inspiration for everyone. You really lived life to the fullest and at the same time supporting everyone around you dear to your heart. I will miss seeing you dodging through traffic but especially our heart to hearts.

I want to offer my heart felt condolences to Shirley's entire family. Shirley was my office manager / bookkeeper / collection agency for more years than I can remember. There were days that I left the office wondering who was working for who. Shirley's work ethics and devotion to myself and the JMS family was never to be duplicated. I was very fortunate to rekindle our relationship a number of years ago resulting in Shirley becoming a part of our family. The many phone calls and times we spent together will always be in our thoughts. Keep waving your flags Shirley, where ever you may be. We will miss you. Mike, Susie, and family.

Dear Evie and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. I always enjoyed our visits with her in Maimonides because she was always smiling, so pleasant and postive, always thanking us and saying how much she enjoyed our visits. She was very fortunate and appreciative to have you and her niece, Marla who she spoke often. RIP Shirley.

My sincere condolences to all who loved Shirley. Her family and friends. I lived in the same apartment building as she did, and would see her whipping out of the garage in her car in the morning, with that Canadian Flag flying in the window. She had so much energy. A bright and radiant smile and happy eyes. When she told how old she was I couldn't believe it. It was always nice running into her. Friendly and kind and engaged with life. She was an inspiration. Her message, without even having to say it was..at least to me, Live life fully and enjoy each day, no matter what age. Rest in Peace Shirley. xo

Dear Marla, I was so sad to see your aunt had passed away. What a beautiful picture. Although we only met briefly while your aunt lived at Maimonides, it was clear how devoted you were to her and her well being, driving into town on short notice whenever things weren’t quite right. I’m sure your aunt knew the love and devotion you had for her. Wishing you and your family no more sorrows, and may she now rest in peace. Warmly, Tracey Winter
