Dear Reisa, Rita, and family. I have been best friends with Reusa since grade 5 and she often talked about her love for her wonderful Uncle Mel. She spoke of his kind and gentle manner. His warmth and gracious ways. My sincere condolences to the family. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Rita. We are so sorry to hear of your loss of Mel. It is hard to believe that Helen and I have known him for over 30 years. During his time at Kwik Kopy he was always there, bright and cheery and with a helping hand for a friend; it always felt good to be able to return the favour, for two associate stores to be able to work together so amicably. It was always lovely to spend time with you and Mel, trying out different restaurants in Montreal, Toronto and Boca, hearing Mel's stories about his work at Steinberg's and his volunteering at the Jewish General Hospital. A lovely man; we will miss him. Our sincerest condolences. Helen & Bob.

Dear Rita and family we were so saddened to hear about Mel. We were reminiscing about all the years we spent together, whether in Montreal, Florida, Vancouver and other places. We have wonderful memories of all the good times we shared. We can still visualize Mel on the floor playing with our grandchildren when they were toddlers. Years later again we got together with Rita and Mel with our great Grandchildren. Mel just loved to play with them. We enjoyed getting together on Saturday nights. May he rest in peace. We will miss him immensely. Alice and Mike.

Dear Auntie Rita, cousins Kenny, Shelley, Hilary and Alan - Uncle Mel was a true original, a man with a heart of gold and a kind, gentle soul. I have the fondest memories of him picking me up at school and taking me to Beaver Lake to feed popcorn to the ducks. We listened to Mel Brooks together and we never ate paper. Wish we could be in TO with you tomorrow to say goodbye and celebrate his life. With love, Glenn, Erica, Evan and Molly
