I remember Paula well from my earlier days at Maimonides. What I remember the most was that she always had a kind word to say to you. She was extremely devoted to the Auxiliary. My condolences to the family.

Cousin Paula was always an important presence in my life. Though our in-person visits were few and far between, I learned through experience that her definition of love was consistency, support, curiosity, and endless optimism. Paula was exuberant in her joy for my son, Bobby, and spoke often about how special it was to watch him grow; to share in his incremental changes and the intimacies of his life, through so many pictures, videos, and phone calls. I will honor Paula’s life by passing on her persistence, her hope, and her love. She will be missed, and her memory will be a blessing. -Georgia, Sarah, and Bobby

Paula, we’ve been friends since I first started working at Maimonides in the seventies and it was a friendship remained strong to this day. We have laughed together and we shared our sad times, too. Paula and I have spent hours on the phone together and as everyone knows, she was a great talker. Why say it with one word when you could say it with a hundred words?. I loved her dearly and it wasn’t unusual for us to be talking in the middle of the night. We were always there for each other and I will dearly miss my good friend. Rest in peace Paula

While I I was president of the auxiliary and as I sat on our board at the Donal Bergman Maimonides she helped me on a daily basis. Her loyalty and devotion to her job was amazing. Paula worked across the hall from me many years ago when I was Director of Volunteer Services (after Stephen Shneiderman). We became fast friends. She was so warm and effervescent - full of life, kindness and great ideas. We spent a lot of time chatting after hours in one office or another. I missed her when I left, and somehow we lost contact over the years. I am so sad to hear that she suffered and hope she is finally at peace. I send my heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

I grew up with Paula in TMR, we were classmates and friends. We reconnected when I became involved at Mount Sinai as a volunteer while Paula was on staff at Maimonides. She was still as I had always known her to be; warm, bubbly, sweet and real. My condolences to her friends and family. RIP you will not be forgotten .

I remember Paula and can still see her face as I too worked alongside her at Maimonides. If memory serves, I remember chatting with her from time to time and even though she often wasn't feeling 100%, that didn't stop her commitment to Maimonides. May she rest in peace and may her family be spared any further sorrow. With deep sympathy, Tracey Winter

To her special cousins, I am heartbroken by this news. She spoke about you so often and know that you visited recently. She couldn't stop talking about how happy she was to see you. When I spoke to Paula before leaving for Israel on Feb. 1 she was upbeat, as usual, and saying everything was fine and she was looking foward for my return (I am still in Israel). We spoke regularly and I would see her occasionally when she was up to it. I met her when my mother was at Maimonides and we became fiends and confidantes over the years, With all her years of suffering and pain, she had such a positive outlook and attitude. She was a tremendous source of support for me during my husband's illness and kept checking up on me almost daily to see how I was doing. I valued her friendship and will miss her terribly. Her suffering is over. I will always cherish her memory. Baila Aspler
