Dear Rauch Family, I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Riva. I remember her with much affection. She graced the world with her beauty and kind heart. Her life epitomized the concept of “Tikkun Olam”. I know how much she will be missed. May her memory always be for blessing.

Dear Joyce and Alan, Hugh joins me in remembering Riva, our favourite of our parents’ friends. We remember her as being interested, thoughtful and understanding of us. She was always ready to let us come over to play with you. My favourite memory was when Alan broke his arm and she had to help bathe you and she was crying and you said, ”Why are you crying? It’s my arm…” I have always thought that that was my best ever “Mom” example. (Riva told my mother who told me.) Notice she was not really “Mrs Rauch” to us! We hope you are remembering many similar thoughts of a lady who led a long and interesting life.

The honey cake... One doesn't appreciate the gift of such a wonderful woman as was my aunt Riva. Birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, weddings... We all age, day by day. We look back on our accomplishments, and wish we were celebrated. We miss her quiet loving contribution to our younger lives. We will carry those lessons to our offspring. And... The Honey Cake, we'll never get to taste that wonderful Honey Cake again. Rest in Peace Aunt Riva. You left an indelible mark on our hearts, and our tastebuds 😊 But *ESPECIALLY* on our hearts 💕

Dear Riva’s family How saddened I was to learn today of Riva’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting her as she and my wife Jojo were enthusiastic participants in an Italian language class which met regularly in the homes of the participants in rotating basis. This was a serious group who worked hard with their profesoressa and always did there homework. I met them at our house and often gave them lifts home after a class at our house. Not only was Riva a good student but she recognized my passion for hamentuschen and kept me plentifully supplied before during and after Purim. She was such a delightful ,intelligent person and I was so privileged to have met and laughed with her. Heartfelt condolences Brahm gelfand

Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Riva Rauch. I first met Riva when we were both freshmen at McGill. I was happy to be included occasionally in the company of the dynamic trio of Riva, Mildred, and Norah. Over the years I met Riva fairly often, either at synagogue (share Zion), at book review groups, and at our mutual hairdresser's. I always admired her tenacity and positive attitude. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be missed.

Dear Joyce and Alan, How can one possibly do justice to a friend and a friendship that has lasted nearly 80 years? The accompanying tribute painted an accurate and emotionally satisfying picture of Riva's life and deeds. Your Mother was the most selfless, generous-spirited person who was always there for me, during the celebratory times and the difficult ones, with a helping hand, and without questions or judgements. All those shared memories and shared meals, many prepared by her with her outstanding culinary skills. In retirement, as circles shrank and the pace slowed, we became even closer and dependent on each other: for company, conversation, and comfort. The irreplaceable Riva will be sorely missed. Sam joins me in sending our love and respect. "Aunty " Norah
