I first met Ida at the crafts group at Beth Tikvah Synagogue. Later at the DDO Senior's Group where she had her art class. Later I met her at a group called the Graduates. This group was formed for those who had lost someone. She kept herself busy and I know about her love for animals. Sorry to here of her passing and glad to know that she had a close friend in Richard Ness.

Though I never actually met Ida, I came to know about her through Nancy, her fierce and loving advocate. There were several occasions when Nancy reached out to me in support of Ida, trying to acquire services, volunteer support, or simply to help her further. I was always so touched to know that Ida had Nancy (and others, it seems!) as her guardian angels. What a blessing you have all been to her. We should all be so blessed with chosen family as Ida was. I’m so sorry to hear about Ida I used to visit Ida every Monday at Maimonides with my dog Roey. (Pre covid) Ida loved to cuddle with him on her bed and give him his treat. Her love of animals was very evident , she was so gentle and kind.

Ida and Paul were guests at family Seders and festivals thanks to our Rabbi M Zeitz and friend introduction. Their company was well received and our friendship grew. I was pleased to take her to Shul at Maimonides on many Sabbaths.

How sad to learn of this news. The obit describes Ida's life perfectly. She loved attending Shabbat services as she sat in her favourite seat. After Victor died , she tried to manage life on her own. Liesbeth and Nancy how grateful Ida and the community were when you stepped in to help her. She was truly blessed to have your dedication enabling her longevity. May she Rest in Peace. She will be missed. BDE
