Dear Charlie's family, we are so sad for all of you on the loss of wonderful Charlie. We miss him and have for the last while. Our memories of time spent with Charlie, Bar B Q's where he always brought me Pot of Gold Chocolates and family get togethers before he did Shabbat suppers with you guys. Our trip to Israel with Rabbi Shoham 19 years ago where we were inseparable for 11 days and all our weekends to Atlantic City, car trips and junkets, meals together, shopping and lots of laughs. He adored all of you, his siblings, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, family and his Torah were paramount in his life always. We missed his being able to drive to DDO, hang out with our family and trips in more recent years, we called often and on his birthday in June, not knowing the last few years if he'd remember. Lawrence always loved Charlie and we both always will. Lawrence's memories are fabulous and I was lucky enough to share in 1/2 of them with him about Charlie. He was a grateful positive man, the truest meaning of a real mensch. He taught me many life lessons and we will miss him. May his blessed memory live on in your hearts and minds and to honor him, enjoy life. With sincere condolences and love, Caryl and Lawrence & all our family.

To the family of Charlie Katz, my wife Fran and I extend our deepest condolences on his death. I grew up next door to the Katz family on Clark St, Charlie and me always called each other by our Jewish names, Chilu and Srul. We would kibbitz each other of the time when he was taller than me. The truth is,I always looked up to him. I remember when we were living in Chomedy and Phil wanted to go for a swim he would call on the good nature and strength of Chilu to help him in and out of the pool. In later years when we were living in Cote St Luc,Charlie and I met up at the BIBA Shul when he came for yurtzeit for his family members. He always sponsored a kiddish to honour their memory. On Shabbat the children flocked to him because he had the best supply of candy to distribute. Rest In Peace my friend. Srul BDE
