Susan & family: We are so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. Its hard to think of CCVT without thinking about Eric. Larger than life is an understatement. Always upbeat, even with his game! Its because of members like you and Eric that made this place our "home". We believe that those we lose live on in the memories we have of them. With Eric, there are so many and he will always be with us.

Dear Susan, Harvey, Sydney and family I am one of several cousins sharing our teenage years on newly carved out roads in Hampstead. And it was this time I remember the most about Eric. He was totally consumed with the joy of exploring, and adventuring where others might fear to go. He was absolutely curious and fun loving, courageous and independent minded. And at the same time very caring. Although I have not seen him often in the intervening years, I and all those who knew him will miss him very much. He was special. May you all be comforted among the mourners of Zion and may his memory be a blessing. Sandra Rafman

Dear Susan, Syd, Frankie and family, My deepest condolences on Eric’s passing. I know the last few years were very tough for him. I will always remember the special times we shared in Boca West. I specifically remember that Eric was one of the first to fly with me when I got my pilots license. We flew up to the Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine. I thought he might be nervous flying with a new pilot but when we were on route at 10,000 feet I looked over and Eric was sound asleep. I also recall our amazing trip to Scotland for the British Open at Carnoustie in 1999. And the ‘wee bus’ that shuttled us from playing golf in the morning to the Open in the afternoon. Eric loved his golf and poured his passion into playing and building CCVT. While we may have lost touch over the last few years. I will forever remember Eric as very dear and caring friend. With much love, Howard

Dear Susan, Frankie, Jeff, Syd, and Harvey, Although I don't remember Eric babysitting me when I was born, he enjoyed sharing those memories with me. I do remember so many wonderful times spent together at Elm Ridge, Country Club of Vermont, and the Ocean club playing Golf together. More importantly, it was all the time we spent together , talking, laughing ,eating and of course drinking great wine . Just sharing time together was so special. I do remember being very proud but not surprised when I was helping a friend who was running a shelter during the Montreal Ice storm. When I arrived, I saw the food we were handing out was on Polar Plastic plates with their utensils. I asked her how they got them and she said, they called and instantly Eric was sending supplies. Just one of many stories, I am sure you know about what a wonderful man he was. May all your wonderful memories sustain you.

Dearest Susan, Jeff and Frankie, What can you say for a lifetime of friendship. There are so many memories and funny stories. Some of the earliest memories were of movies with the guys in Eric's basement. When Susan came into Eric's life, I asked for Ricky only to have Susan inform me "no Ricky here" and hung up the phone. Eric finally gave up hockey when he realized the "old guy" they were talking about was him. On a trip to Yosemite at the vista points, Susan would read the description of what we were seeing. Unfortunately, there was so much fog, we only saw white. Eventually we moved our trip to the Jabberwocky Inn in Monterey. Once in Santa Cruz while watching some birds on a river, we all learned about the ooey-ooey bird. It is a male bird that has no legs so goes "ooey-ooey" when it lands. Eric had a big heart. One example happened in Stowe. For our first Christmas together, Eric learned a Christmas tree was important to Cathi. While Susan distracted Cathi with a trip into Stowe, Eric and I cut down a tree and set it up in our bedroom. Throughout the years, we went to weddings in Stowe and Nova Scotia, traveled together, played together, had wonderful discussions, and just enjoyed life together. Eric will be sorely missed. Much love, Seymour and Catherine Shuster

Eric has always held a special place in my heart. We were friends in our youth at summer camp. The very few times that I reached out to him for a favor, or if our paths crossed it was as if no time had passed. Jack and I offer our most sincere and warmest sympathies. May his memory provide some comfort to you, Susan, and to the rest of the family.

Dear Susan, Syd, Harvey, Frankie, Jeff and family Our sincere condolences on the heartbreaking loss of your beloved Eric. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we remember someone so special. Eric was a wonderful cousin, so kind, caring and loving. Always there for us. Over the years we shared many wonderful family seders and simchas. It was Eric who introduced me and my family to the love of downhill skiing in the laurentians. One time my ski went down the mountain on its own into a stream of water. Without hesitation Eric went to the rescue to retrieve it. Eric will forever be remembered for the special and wonderful relationship we had over the years. May you find strength and comfort to help you through this time of sorrow. Thinking of you all with love Cousins Thelma and David Smith and family

Dear Susan, Jewel and I were so sad to learn Eric has passed away. We have countless fond memories from Stowe, especially joining the Country Club of Vermont as soon as Eric had positioned the opportunity. So many years of special enjoyment thanks to your support to Eric as he pioneered the completion of the course, then the Clubhouse, then the wonderful social events. But...many years prior, I had the privilege of dealing with Eric in his plastics business - there he was equally driven and indeed successful. May the memories of your wonderfully close relationship provide solace.

Dear Susan, Syd, Harvey, Francine &Jeff. Eric was a dear and admired friend of mine since 1954 when we met at Bnai Brith. He was an especially bright individual and so many of us tried to emulate him. I so much enjoyed the many meetings and movies at his Hampstead house and you could never doubt what you were seeing since he had printed signs everywhere such as movie screen, shelf, washroom etc . We were very saddened and heartbroken to learn about his death and extend our deepest sympathy to your entire family

Dear Susan, Sydney, Harvey and family, Please accept our sincerest sympathies on the loss of Eric. Eric and I grew up next door to each other across MacDonald Park. We were second cousins and our fathers grew up together in the same bedroom with my fathers 4 other brothers. Eric was very adventurous and being 5 months older and bigger he was the leader. We bicycled to Dorval Airport in the late 40’s and he had me trudging through the snow in Hampstead Golfcourse. He never lacked energy. We went to camp Pembina together and Shaare Zion Hebrew School. We walked home together in the dark. We eventually went our separate ways . Eric was a very special person and an important part of my childhood. Brahm & Carol
