Dear Nachum, Linda, Burt, and the entire Glouberman and Covit mishpochess, It is a painful shock to learn that Dena is gone. We share in your sorrow and send heartfelt condolences. After the war, our parents, Paul and Babey Trepman, were among the survivor immigrants who had no local family in Montreal. Therefore, the campers, counselors, waiters, staff, administrators, and families with whom we summered each year at Unzer Camp-Kindervelt (later Camp Dan) were our de facto family – reliable, consistent, and unforgettable. Nachum and Dena were inspiring and pivotal members of this camp mishpoche. As camp director, Paul (Mr. T) greatly appreciated Nachum's exemplary and dependable leadership as head counselor. Dena was famous at camp because of her grace, kindness, and supportive character and her hairy black-and-white shih tzu that followed her everywhere. We remember our sadness when Nachum and Dena moved away to Winnipeg and, later, when the camp closed permanently after the 1969 season. The decades since have flown by, as Babey (Mrs. T) used to say, like a cat's leap (azoy vi a katsn shprung). However, our memories of Dena and Nachum will remain as a shining bright star from those special days. We send our love to you, your families, and the entire camp mishpoche. We should see each other again only on happy occasions (nor oyf simches), but there always will be a void without Dena's presence. I met Dena at summer camp where she fell in love with my cousin Nachem. She introduced me to the Art Studio on Park Avenue. Not long after I was a bridesmaid at their magical wedding. Dena was the librarian at JPPS when my children were students at the school. She was always approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. Librarians are the gatekeepers to the world of reading, and by extension, magic. I appreciated her and her efforts, which live on in the dedicated readers she helped create. May her family know no more sorrow.

Dear Nachum and family. Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Dena. I met and got to know Dena in the early 1960s when my late mom Rita (JPS Miss Kay) tutored her. Dena had a delightful aura about that made her sparkle. Dena was among my mom's favorite students. Over all the many years, I have often thought about Dena, especially when driving past her house in CSL where I drove and picked up my mother before and after Dena's lessons.
