Linda and Mort Besner - 12 days ago
Our sincerest condolences to the entire Hitterman Family. As I sit writing this message, many memories of Martin come into my mind. The good old days belonging to Chomedey Lodge. Marty was a leader and a great part of its success. Back in 1970 Marty, Marvin, Lenny, and Mark sat with me at our office in Ville D'Anjou , trying to convince me to become the next President of our Lodge. I did not want the job. After the 40oz. of Scotch was finished.....Martin said " I think I heard a very faint YES from our next president, Mazel Tov" He was the last of our six Lodge members who lived on Du Sablon. I will never forget the good times we shared together. May only good memories as well, help you through this difficult period. You should know no more sorrow. BDH

Sorry to hear of Martin's passing. The special moments that stand out in my mind are when your Dad prepared soups while my husband, Howie was suffering from Pancreatic cancer. Another special moment was when your Dad reached out to me before my brother, Melvin's funeral and insisted I go out for lunch with Ruthie and him. Years later I asked him why he did that and his response was that now I no longer had a sibling. Sharing all holidays together with our families was special. Fondly, Evelyn

I'll have a glass tonight and listen to Elvis or Sinatra. There's no better way to celebrate the life of Uncle Martin. We send our love and deepest sympathies to you all. Alana and Jeff and family.

Dearest Beloved Family, It is hard to believe that "Hitterman" has taken the trip of a lifetime. This time not by 5th wheeler, power or sailboat, but on the wings of angels. There are so many memories of our best times together, the campground, the Expos, shmoozing with the(odd) drink and all of you being together, growing into the amazing adults you have become. The last few years have been difficult, but you were the most supportive children anyone could ask for. Marty is now with his beloved Ruthie, dancing to his favourites Frankie and Elvis. RIP dear friend and may your memory be a blessing
