Dear Laurie and Debbie and Family, Being a friend of Enid’s has been an honor and a privilege. Enid and I shared many good times and memories. She was always kind and understanding. As friends we often commented and reflected on how we raised our girls and how proud we were of the people they had become. We often laughed at how we could read each other’s mind. Enid was a very special friend and I will always treasure the friendship that we had....it can never be replaced. Laurie and Debbie....you both are awesome. The love, respect and kindness that you gave to your mom is what all parents desire from their children. You are the Legacy that Enid has given the world. I know that you both will make the world a better place. May you both be blessed with much happiness and good things and good health always. Enid you will be missed but always treasured in my heart. Laurie and Debbie may you and your family be spared from any more sorrow. Marlene Chitayat

Dearest Laurie and Debbie, words cannot express what I want to say. Your mother was our mother. I will always have such wonderful memories of her and all of us together, from when we were babies and our mothers would mix us around and try to guess who was who by our tuchus!! Apparently Laurie, you were the only one they could always guess right. And when we were teenagers, Enid always had her door open for us, day or night. Her memory will live on in us. baruch Dayan emet

For the past few days I’ve been reminiscing about the good old days at Enid’s house; get togethers with our friends from camp and high schools, Ezra the fluffy fluffnick, our good ol’ buddy Sam, Jonah visiting as a toddler with his baritone voice already developing, tortenini dinners (that’s not a typo), Wendy’s Frosty’s, Trump the temp rescue cat, 1990‘s style “gaming” with Enid on her latest tech toy, Enid’s famous low budget valid world travel advice: “take a cargo ship”, our private basement/garage bubble area on Smart Ave -“she has no sense of smell, it’s ok!”… etc..! And all those precious memories are thanks to the welcoming, generous, non-judgmental and kind loving Enid. A surrogate mother to multiple friends from Deb&Lau’s teenage hood, I am honored to have been one of those lucky recipients. Thank you both for always openly sharing Egnid (also not a typo) with us. Always having the comfort of a “home away from home”, wherever in the world that might’ve been for me at the time, that’s what Enid is to me. The great memories will live on and I know that we will talk about them continually. The world lost a precious person yesterday, but Laurie and Debbie will ensure that Enid shines on forever. My deepest condolences to my Bo and my Lo, also to Margo, David, Jesse, Wendy and their families and of course to the incredible Helen Villatoro and her family. Shine on Enid! You have love all around.

Dear Debbie and Laurie, Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your mother. I had the pleasure of working with Enid while I was the principal of Merton School. She supervised the lunch monitors. Enid cared sincerely about the welfare of the children and there were many times when she would come to freely volunteer. She sometimes would give me money to make sure that needy children had lunch. When she retired she made a very generous donation to the school. I will never forget her kindness. May you be comforted by good memories.
